Hanover Street Social
Stylish but relaxed Liverpool French spot with kids' menu, high chairs and an express lunch under £20 — book ahead, it gets busy.

Restaurant · Liverpool
Right in the middle of town on Hanover Street, this Alpine-leaning place does European small plates and big comfort dishes, and it's a genuinely easy one to bring children to — kids' menu, high chairs, vegan choices, and staff who come across as warm and attentive rather than harried. Mid-afternoon is the sweet spot: it goes quiet, tables come quickly, and the big windows over the bustle of the city centre keep small people occupied. Portions are generous, the pretzels get raved about, and the halloumi schnitzel burger with crispy fries, the bratwurst-and-roast-potato plate and the chocolate brownie with ice cream are the safe bets. Not everything lands — the steak and prawns disappoint some, and the fish and chips can come out oily — but four people ate for under £100, and one family had the kitchen improvise a dish just because they asked.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
