Perched above Cullercoats Bay, this is Spanish tapas done with a North East beach twist — local seafood, small sharing plates, and a Sunday roast that regulars go back for, with beef, gravy and yorkshires all done properly. It's genuinely relaxed with children around: high chairs, a kids' menu, vegan options, buggy access and free parking, plus outdoor tables in summer where the sea view does half the entertaining. The staff are attentive without hovering — one family lingered four hours over Sunday lunch with a group of ten and were looked after throughout. Prices are reasonable for what arrives. Two things worth knowing: it's a place built for taking your time rather than a quick in-and-out, and the atmosphere can get buzzing at weekends, so book ahead if you want a decent table.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
