About Rumbletums Café & Training Project

Tucked down a side street away from Kimberley's centre, with a car park a short walk away (free for the first hour, modest rates after), this is a genuine community hub rather than a standard high-street stop. The seating is well spaced and roomy — plenty of space to park a pram or a wheelchair without shuffling tables — and it's calm enough that one visitor describes bringing an anxious family member simply because he likes it there. Staff are warm and unhurried, and the kitchen is open to view and spotless. Food is home-cooked and hearty: the veggie lasagne has fans, the cakes go fast (the bakewell slice especially — some people phone ahead to reserve one), and locally roasted coffee comes in about a pound cheaper than the chains. Gluten-free and vegan options appear regularly. Kids' menu, high chairs and free parking are all sorted.
