The Highbury Inn
Proper local pub with a big beer garden and play area, cheap beer, free parking and a genuinely child-friendly welcome.

Kashmiri Restaurant · Birmingham
One of Birmingham's oldest balti houses, and still cooking curries properly in the dish they're served in rather than transferring them at the last minute — you can taste the difference. Portions are generous, there's a kids' menu and high chairs, buggy access is fine, and free parking takes one worry off the trip. Families rave about the special cheese naan, which comes out lighter and fresher than a standard one, the bhuna chooza, the butter chicken and a properly garlicky tarka dhal that converts non-dhal people. Vegan and halal options are on the menu, and you can build your own balti. Worth knowing: it's BYOB, and while the staff are often warm and attentive, service can drift on quieter evenings — go early if you want calm, and don't arrive with a child already at breaking point.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
