Opposite Dishoom in the city centre, this is a Thai spot that copes well with a family arriving unannounced — one group turning up soaking wet without a booking was waved in to wait indoors rather than left in the rain, which tells you something about how the team handles people. Buggy access and high chairs are sorted, there's a kids' menu and plenty of vegan choices, plus outdoor seating for warmer days. The pad Thai comes in for real praise, the khao soi more so, and the waterfall beef arrives as a wrap-it-yourself plate of lettuce, cucumber, herbs and sticky rice that older children find genuinely fun. Portions on the noodle dishes are generous; some side dishes less so for the price. Weekend waits of around half an hour do happen, so book if you can.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
