Seafood · Poole
There's a proper view of Poole Quay from the window tables here, which buys you a few minutes of peace while everyone settles. The day's catch is written straight onto the paper tablecloths, so it changes — gurnard, hake, mussels, grilled fish with crispy skin and a soft middle. Chips are unlimited, which quietly solves the fussy-eater problem, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free access with a pram. Staff are attentive without hovering: one solo diner was checked on all through lunch, and a mix-up over sauces was sorted without fuss. Dressed crab with chips makes a light main, and the calamari comes out crisp rather than greasy. It's not a cheap lunch, and it's popular enough after a Sandbanks walk that booking is wise, but the cooking is genuinely good.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
