Italian · Birmingham
Tucked just outside the city centre, this is a small, family-run Italian where the tables fill up for good reason — some families have been coming for decades. It's cosy rather than spacious, so a pram is easier folded, but there's an outdoor terrace that suits restless children and warmer days, plus free parking nearby. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, vegan options too, and the team are notably patient — they'll talk you through the specials board properly and let you sit and chat for hours without hurrying you along. The cooking is genuinely homemade: spinach and ricotta tortellini in sage butter, blue cheese gnocchi, calamari in a light batter that actually tastes of squid. Prices are gentle for what you get — drinks, mains and desserts for just over £30. Worth booking, as it's small and busy.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
