Pub · Norwich
Right on the river at Coltishall, this is the kind of spot where you can let the children loose on the common before or after lunch, then eat outside by the water in the sunshine. It's genuinely set up for families — high chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and a car park (though on a sunny day it fills fast and you'll be hunting for a space in the village). Portions are enormous, so consider sharing: the stone-baked pizzas, piri piri chicken and the burgers all get raved about, and nobody leaves hungry. One snag worth knowing: service can be slow when it's busy, sometimes twenty minutes before anyone takes your order, so bring something to occupy small people. The staff are warm and good with children; one parent says their toddler is the only place their son "finishes everything on his plate".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
