Ten minutes out of Inverness on the Skye road, this little café has a trump card most places can't match: Highland cattle across the street, and £1 bags of pellets on the counter so children can feed them. That alone buys you a peaceful coffee. Inside it's a warm, small-business welcome from the owners, plus a friendly golden retriever, a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking with plenty of room. Food comes out fast and fresh — the Cullen skink gets particular praise, along with the baked potatoes, haggis, venison burger and cinnamon swirls with a latte. There's a little gift shop with handmade wooden bits and Highland cow souvenirs. Worth knowing: the cows aren't all keen on being petted, and the biggest one shoves in with his horns, so keep small hands back and let them drop pellets rather than reach.
