Café · Par
Tucked away in Par and easy to miss, this quirky little café is decorated wall-to-wall with rock memorabilia, which turns out to be brilliant for keeping restless children looking around while they wait. Breakfast is the reason to come — big, properly hot, cooked fresh, with a juice, a hot drink and toast included in the price, so a family fry-up lands closer to £9 a head than you'd expect. The mosh breakfast with bubble and squeak has a following, as does the kids' hot chocolate. Food arrives quickly, around ten minutes for an omelette, and the staff are cheerful and happy to swap or add things for fussy eaters. There are high chairs, a kids' menu, vegan options, outdoor seating and free parking. It's small and gets busy, so it can feel snug with a pram.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
