Restaurant · Harrogate
Tucked up a flight of stairs off Oxford Street, this eclectic little bistro is easy to walk straight past — and the stairs are worth knowing about if you're arriving with a pram, since there's no way round them. Once you're up, it's cosy and rustic, full of curiosities to keep small eyes busy, with high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking sorted. The cooking is Italian-Caribbean home cooking: the arancini get raved about, the blackened panfried fish with pineapple salsa is a real one, and breakfast means thick-cut bacon and properly poached eggs. Vegan and gluten-free are handled without fuss. The owners are hands-on and warm with everyone. Two honest snags: food can take a while at busy moments, and you'll want to book — it fills up fast, even early evening.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
