Set in the middle of Liverpool city centre, this is a cluster of counters rather than one restaurant, which suits families who can never agree — a burger and fries for one child, all-you-can-eat for the grown-ups, Brazilian food if you're staying nearby. There's plenty of seating upstairs, so you can usually find a table with space for a pram rather than hovering with a tray. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, and staff have a reputation for being unhurried when you're taking an age to order. Food arrives fast, which matters mid-meltdown. Portions are generous: think veggie burgers stacked with mushrooms, peppers and onions, Cajun chips, and freak shakes with an entire slice of cake on top. Two honest snags — the music gets loud enough that one family gave up and left, and bar prices don't always match what's advertised. Parking underneath is reasonably priced with midday spaces, though the bays are short.
