Restaurant · Tisbury
Tucked into the Wiltshire countryside outside Tisbury, this is a walled kitchen garden with a restaurant attached, and the gardens themselves do a lot of the work when you've got children — after your roast you can wander out and show them the beds where the veg on their plate actually grew. The cooking is seasonal and local, plates generous without being overwhelming, and the Sunday roast comes up again and again. Lunch runs relaxed rather than hushed, staff take time to explain the menu, and they're notably gentle with babies — one family described the service as "kind, calm and considered" with their little one. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, vegan options, plenty of outdoor seating and free parking, and buggies get in fine. It's a destination lunch rather than a quick stop, and it does host weddings, so book ahead.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
