Tucked just off the beaten track in Stone, this is the kind of place families walk past for years before finally booking — and then wish they'd gone sooner. The pizza is the draw, close to properly Neapolitan, with a huge choice including a venison one and enough vegan options that nobody gets the token side salad. The children's menu is good value, high chairs are there, and the starters get shared easily: chorizo and potato, garlic mushrooms, chicken wings with a blue cheese dip. Order a dip for the crusts. Food comes out quickly and the staff are friendly and genuinely clued up on allergies, and the loos are clean. It's cosy rather than roomy, and can get noisy enough to make conversation across the table hard. Free parking, takeaway collection, and around £38 a head for three courses with wine.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
