Tucked on London Road, this is a properly relaxed spot — one floor throughout, so a pram rolls in without a fight, and there's a seating area out front plus a beer garden round the back with street art on the walls. The decor is eclectic and lived-in, closer to an old pub than a coffee chain, and the prices reflect that: toasties around £3.50, builder's tea £2.50. The cheese toastie has a genuine following, there's plenty that's vegan, and the batch filter coffee comes with a discount on refills. Staff are chatty and remember regulars' orders. Two honest snags: the music can be loud (one visitor found it "way too loud" for a morning), and weekends bring a DJ — lovely for some, less so if you've a baby napping in the buggy.
