Staff are generally warm and helpful, happy to point you elsewhere if you don't fancy eating on site, and food allergies are taken properly seriously — one guest had a gluten-free full English cooked fresh and separate. Breakfast gets consistent praise. Two honest snags: parking is the big one, with no discount worth much and roughly £24–30 a night at nearby car parks, so book ahead. Rooms are quiet, though some furniture is looking tired.
