A proper community caff in Plymouth, the kind where the team knows the regulars and looks after them — and that welcome extends to children too. Breakfast is the reason to come: enormous plates of well-cooked food, big mugs of tea, and a breakfast baguette stuffed with three sausages, bacon, egg and mushrooms. Two huge fry-ups with drinks and toast came to under £20, so it's genuinely cheap for a family. There are high chairs, a kids' menu, room to get a pram in, outdoor seating and free parking, plus handrails in the toilet. It's often busy, so expect a wait for a table at peak times and a bit of cheerful noise — no bad thing when your toddler is being loud. Some find the fried bread and brown sauce not to their taste.
