A big, busy all-day café in the middle of Bexhill, roomy enough that tables aren't crammed together — handy when you've a pram and a toddler who won't sit still. Food comes out fast and in large portions: the scampi arrives with a proper pile of soft, non-greasy chips, the prawn salad is a good hot-day option, and the Mary Poppins pancake (banana, cream, syrup and ice cream) is the pudding children will talk about all week. Staff are friendly and attentive with all ages, there are high chairs, a kids' menu, outdoor seating and free parking. The interior is dated and it gets packed at peak times, and a few feel it's dear for café fare — but portions are generous and one visitor called the service "quick and friendly". Relaxed enough to actually chat.
