Maeme's Jamaica Street
A relaxed Jamaican restaurant in Bristol serving bold Caribbean flavours at mid-range prices, friendly for a family meal out.

Tapas bar · Bristol
Small plates done properly, and the kitchen sends them out fast — dishes arrive quickly and keep coming, which matters when someone at the table is losing patience. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the staff are genuinely warm, happy to walk you through what's on each plate rather than rushing off. Free parking helps too. The cooking leans local and seasonal: mussels, wild boar croquettes, ox tongue, hake, polenta with homemade pesto, and vegetarian and vegan options that people rave about as much as the meat. Save room for the whiskey cake with vanilla ice cream. Worth knowing: it's on the pricier side once you've ordered enough to fill everyone, some dishes come out cold on the sharing menu, and two or three plates per person is plenty — one parent found their table had badly over-ordered.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
