Café · Rochester
A board game café that's easy to walk straight past — inside it opens up into two floors and a genuinely huge games library, with something playable for little ones as well as older kids. Upstairs is warmer, lighter and noisier with more children about; downstairs is quieter and has retro video games. You book a table for three hours, order food and drinks from your seat by QR code or iPad, then pick a game from the next room — which means nobody has to queue at a counter mid-meltdown. Prices are gentle, the staff are patient and quick, and portions are big: enormous hotdogs, a mountain of nachos, good burgers, plenty of vegan and veggie choices and a proper dessert list. Booking ahead is wise; walk-ins depend on space. One family calls it a favourite afternoon out.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
