Tucked into the Jesmond/Sandyford side of town, this is a long-standing Italian that families have been coming back to for years — same owners, same warm welcome. Step-free access at the door and plenty of parking make the arrival easy with a pram, and there are high chairs and a kids' menu once you're in. Food comes out fast and piping hot, which matters when someone's patience is thinning: crispy thin-based pizzas, a garlicky bread that perfumes the whole room, generous pasta with tiger prawns, gorgeous minestrone. Portions are big enough to take home. The specials board is nearly as long as the menu. It's always busy with a good buzz, though one parent notes it's "busy, but not noisy". The interior is dated rather than stylish — nobody seems to mind at these prices.
