Tucked a few minutes off the A303, this is the kind of roadside stop that turns into a proper outing. Children get their own play area with car racing, a mini double decker bus and a play kitchen, and there's masses of outdoor space plus quirky decorated railway carriages and a real double decker with tables upstairs — plenty of room for a buggy and free parking outside. High chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are all there. The cooking is genuinely good: Turkish eggs, the full Somerset breakfast, feather-light fried chicken, focaccia with labneh, and hash browns families rave about. Staff are warm and food arrives quickly even when it's packed. Cakes and coffee aren't cheap, and it gets busy — one parent advises booking if you know roughly when you'll arrive.
