Restaurants · Carmarthen
A grand old house on a quiet stretch outside Carmarthen, this one surprises people — it looks posh from the outside, but the owners have a way of making families feel immediately welcome rather than watched. The courtyard out front has tables and chairs that come into their own on a warm day, and there's a garden opposite with a stream running past it, which buys you a good half hour of children throwing sticks in the water while you finish a drink. Food is cooked to order, so expect a wait, but it's worth it — the fish and chips get singled out again and again, and one visitor called the supper "gourmet quality, and not expensive". Kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access on the ground floor and free parking. Worth booking, and the dining room is on the dark side.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
