The SOJU
Lively Korean grill in Reading with a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free buggy access — booking ahead is recommended.

Big, dark-toned and calmer than you'd expect for a chain — the tables are well spaced, which matters when you're parking a buggy beside one, and there's a kids' menu and high chairs. Food comes out fast, which is the difference between a good lunch and a meltdown. The beef brisket pho gets the most love, and the salt and pepper squid starter is worth ordering just for the garlic-heavy dipping sauce. Pho arrives with herbs, lime and sliced lettuce on the side so children can build a bowl as plain or as spicy as they like, and there are vegan options too. Staff are notably patient with first-timers, happy to walk you through the menu. Two snags: toilets are downstairs, and there's no parking of its own, so use the main town car parks.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
