A relaxed Exeter restaurant with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating for sunny days — mid-priced and rated 4.4 by families.

Cafés · Exeter
Set beside a farm shop just outside Exeter, this is the kind of place you stumble into and then plan return trips around. It's small, so a big group without a booking is luck rather than certainty — though families have squeezed eight in at short notice. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, there's outdoor seating for when little ones need air, and parking is free. The staff genuinely talk to children — asking about school, remembering names — which changes the mood of a meal enormously. Everything's made to order: full English breakfasts cooked properly, poached eggs with avocado and bacon, frittata and quiche, and a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette people rave about. The homemade cakes sell out, so go early. Dogs get a treat too. Prices are fair for what arrives.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
