Coffee Shops · Newport, Gwent
Tucked into a shopping parade just north of Newport and a short hop off the M4, this is a proper local café where the team clearly like having people in — dogs included, with pup cups ready at the counter. Breakfast is the draw: the full pantry comes loaded with sautéed potatoes, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and herbs, and the flat whites and decaf both get singled out. Afternoon tea (around £22 a head) is a birthday favourite, with fresh sandwiches, generous cake and boxes to take home. Food tends to arrive quickly, which helps with a hungry toddler. It's not a big room and weekend brunch fills it, so book if there are four or more of you — but there's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, vegan choices and free parking outside.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
