Tucked into the village at the foot of Snowdon, this is a small wooden café that fills up fast — arrive before noon at weekends or you'll be waiting, and it does get congested at peak times. Full table service means you can settle the children at a table (there are high chairs and a kids' menu) and order without queueing, which helps when someone's hungry and cross. The outdoor tables are the easy option with a buggy, with a view of the street and the mountains behind. Portions are generous: the full Welsh, potato and chorizo hash, Welsh rarebit, and cheesy fries all get raved about, and the homemade cakes are enormous. Parking is free but the surrounding streets are mostly residential, so the village car park is the safer bet. One family called it "one of my most memorable breakfast experiences".
