About O'neills New Street

Big enough inside that a pram isn't a problem, and at lunchtime midweek it's genuinely calm — one visitor found it "spacious and nice and quiet" on a Tuesday. That changes in the evenings and at weekends, when the music and the chatter start competing and holding a conversation across the table gets hard, so time your visit if you've got a child who struggles with noise. The food is unfussy pub cooking at sensible prices for central Birmingham — the Hot Chick Stack burger comes in a genuinely big portion, and the pepperoni pizza gets a nod too. High chairs and a kids' menu are in place, service stays quick even when the bar is three deep, and the team are relaxed about bookings and late arrivals. The toilets are tired but clean. Cooking can be hit-and-miss on a busy day.
