Tucked round the back of a small business park with fields all around, this is a properly odd building — part tent, part corrugated steel — and somehow that's the charm. It's roomy enough for a buggy, there's free parking right outside, and outdoor seating for when someone needs to run about. Much of the produce is local or grown on their own smallholding, and it shows: salads with buffalo mozzarella, a genuinely unusual pork burger, homemade cordials including rhubarb, and a cake counter that people go back for — the brownies especially. High chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are all sorted, and the staff are friendly and quick. Lunchtimes get busy, so book if you can; one family found the team squeezed them in anyway.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
