Harbour Inn
Lively Southwold pub with a kids' menu, high chairs, step-free buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking.

Café · Southwold
Perched above the marshes on the walk in from Southwold, this spot earns its rating on setting as much as food — the views are wide open, there's a kids' play area (worth checking it's open before you promise it), and the river walks are long and flat enough for a buggy. Parking is free and plentiful. The kitchen makes everything fresh, so expect a genuine wait at busy times: sandwiches have taken 40 minutes or more on bad days, which is worth knowing if you've got a hungry toddler — order early. What arrives is good, though. The focaccia, the breakfast baps and the skinny fries get particular praise, and vegan and gluten-free options are handled well. Two snags: the glass-heavy room gets hot on sunny days, and there are only two toilets, one of them outside in a separate shed.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
