The Beach Hut Cafe
An easygoing Brighton café with outdoor seating and a 4.6 rating — a relaxed spot for a coffee or bite with the kids.

Restaurant · Brighton
Sitting right on the beachfront, this one earns its keep on setting more than cooking. The big outdoor terrace looks out over the sea and the pier, and in colder months there are clear plastic domes you can sit inside — genuinely lovely with children, and a bit of a novelty for them. There's an indoor section for proper British weather, high chairs, a kids' menu, and plenty of room to get a pram in. Be honest with yourself about the food, though: fish and chips divides people sharply, portions are huge but batter-heavy, and prices run higher than you'd expect. Service can be slow when they're short-staffed, and the music gets loud. Families who come for drinks, coffee and the view tend to leave happiest.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
