Tucked away near the Pier Head with a co-working space above, this is the kind of place you'd walk past without noticing — which is partly why it works with children. It's laid back rather than precious, dog friendly, with outdoor seating, high chairs and a kids' menu, and the buggy gets in fine. The Scouse is the thing to order, meat or vegetarian, and the Sunday roast comes out tender and generous; burgers and fish and chips get plenty of love too, and the mocktails are a nice touch for older kids. Prices are fair for what arrives — around £20 for a sandwich, fries and a drink. Two honest snags: it's genuinely busy at peak times so seats go fast, and food can be slow to the table, which matters when someone's hungry.
