A garden centre café that works surprisingly well with small children — the Street Kitchen does coffee, scones, cakes and proper hot lunches, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and plenty of room to push a pram through. Parking is free and there's lots of it, which alone makes it easier than town. Worth knowing: the seating area fills up fast and can feel cramped at peak times, so weekday mornings are calmer than a bank holiday, when service slows and tables run short. Part of the cosy seating is set aside for dog owners, so leave those chairs free if you haven't brought one. The plant section, gift shop and clothing are a decent wander afterwards when everyone's finished eating, and prices are fair for what you get.
