O'Hares Lounge Bars
A laid-back Newcastle pub with a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating, making family meals genuinely easy.

Cafés · Newcastle, County Down
Right by the Donard Park entrance, this is the natural stop after a morning on the mountain or a wander along the shore, and it's set up for the state children are in by then. Buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking take the faff out of arriving, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs room with a view when downstairs is full — which it often is. Food comes out quickly even at full lunchtime pelt, and the staff stay friendly when they're run off their feet. The big breakfast, the chicken pesto toastie and the traybakes get the most love, and lunch is served before noon if you've got a hungry toddler who can't wait until twelve. Be warned on price: it's dearer than it looks, with families reporting £30-plus for a light lunch for two.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
