A rustic little spot with a wrap-around wooden deck that catches the sun all day — plenty of outdoor seating, which is where you'll want to be with a pram or a restless toddler, since inside is snug and can get properly noisy when the blender's going. Free parking helps. Everything is made on site: sourdough, croissants, cinnamon buns, and a leek, apple and sage sausage roll that's closer to a meal than a snack. There's a vegan sandwich with cashew pesto and feta in a genuinely generous portion, plus waffles, flapjacks and crumbles for sharing with small people. High chairs, a kids' menu and buggy access are all sorted, and the staff are chatty without being overbearing. One thing worth knowing: on a hot day the deck has no shade, and locals fill it fast.
