Indian · Cambridge
Cambridge parents mostly land here for a special occasion rather than a quick weeknight feed, and it's worth knowing that going in — this is tasting-menu territory, with seven courses, careful plating and prices to match. What makes it workable with children is that the practical bits are covered: high chairs, a kids' menu, room to get a pram in, and free parking, which takes the sting out of a city-centre trip. Staff are patient and take time to explain each dish, which children often find more interesting than the food itself. The black dal, papdi chaat, lal mirch paneer and saffron rice come up again and again, and vegans are properly looked after — one parent loved the mango sorbet palate cleansers. Book ahead, and ask about table position; not every spot in the room is equally comfortable.
