Restaurant · Denbigh
Sunday lunches and mid-week dinners both land well at this Denbigh spot, where the welcome is genuinely warm — even the dog gets water and treats at the door. The menu is on the small side, which worries some families at first, but there's enough range that everyone finds something, and the cooking is what people come back for: crisp fish and chips, a farmer's pie full of flavour, mint lamb pie, and homemade ice creams including nettle sorbet and peanut brittle. Vegetarians and vegans are unusually well served, with a lion's mane roast among the standouts. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking make the practicalities easy. It's cosy rather than cavernous, so a table of seven fits but worth booking. One family managed seven meals with everyone happy — "reasonable price on top of the experience".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
