Restaurant · Edinburgh
Handy for a pit stop near the top of Leith Walk, this is a big, roomy branch where a pram isn't a problem and the noise stays surprisingly manageable even when tables are full — one parent noticed it was busy but "wasn't too loud at all". Food comes out fast and hot, which matters when someone's patience is thin, and the staff are down-to-earth about walking first-timers through the menu and the sauce heat. Halloumi, loaded fries and properly good chips are the reliable orders, and free refills keep everyone topped up. Dietary needs are handled seriously, with the team happy to explain how things are cooked. Two honest snags: the sides come in genuinely tiny dishes for the money, and tables near the door can catch a draught, so ask to sit further in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
