Zizzi - Cardiff Mermaid Quay
Quay-side Italian with kids' menu, high chairs and pram room — go after 7.30pm or at lunch to dodge the rush.

Restaurant · Cardiff
Tucked into the Bay, this branch is on the small side and gets busy, but tables turn over fast so a queue rarely means a long wait with restless children. Staff have shuffled tables together for large groups — one family of six adults and five kids were seated without fuss — and there are high chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and outdoor seating when the noise indoors builds. Bottomless soft drinks go down well with children, and the sharing platters with fries and corn on the cob suit a table that can't agree. Food usually arrives quickly, though bigger orders take longer and the chicken can occasionally come out dry or over-charred. Prices have crept up, so it's not the cheapest casual lunch, but free parking and the waterfront setting take the edge off.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
