Restaurant · Cheltenham
French-Indian fusion in the middle of Cheltenham, and more welcoming to small people than the smart look suggests — one family arrived with a baby and found the team happily accommodating, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. It's calm and fairly quiet early evening, filling out with proper chatter from about half seven, so an early table is the sensible move with children. Service is unhurried and genuinely warm — nobody rushes you, glasses get topped up, and the chefs sometimes come out for a chat. The cooking is the draw: smoked aubergine, chicken tikka, venison and lamb rump all come in for real praise, and the chocolate fondant disappears fast. The prix fixe lunch keeps the bill sensible; à la carte sits, as one visitor put it, "just on the limit". Worth booking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
