Korean · Birmingham
A small Korean spot in the city centre that a family runs themselves, and it shows — the owners are warm with everyone who comes through the door, happy to chat and answer questions, which makes a difference when you've got children in tow. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, and food comes out fast, often within about five minutes of ordering, so nobody has time to melt down. It's a little place rather than a roomy one, so a pram may be a squeeze at busy times. The bibimbap, beef japchae and the soy-and-honey fried chicken get the most love, the kimchi is properly fresh, and everything is halal. Portions travel well if you need to take the rest home. Prices are fair overall, though soft drinks feel steep.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
