Perched right on the edge of Plymouth Sound, this carvery pub trades on a view that genuinely stops you mid-forkful — panoramic water, sunsets, and enough space inside that a pram isn't a problem. It's a big, roomy venue with free parking, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating, and you can even arrive by water taxi from the Barbican. The roast is the draw: four meats, a proper spread of veg, tender beef and rich gravy, with portions huge enough that families regularly share. The profiteroles get rapturous mentions, and the kitchen is nut-free, which matters if you're managing an allergy. Two honest caveats — the music runs loud, so conversation is a struggle, and Sunday lunchtimes get properly slammed, with food taking around 30 minutes. Book, or arrive by midday. Tables are cleared quickly and the staff are friendly under pressure.
