Getting here is a proper journey — a long single-track road with sheep on it — so this is a special-occasion dinner rather than a quick bite, and worth knowing before you set off. The dining room is genuinely characterful, with views across to Mull, and families describe the atmosphere as relaxed enough that you forget the outside world entirely. Food is the reason people come back: an eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings that had one couple, seasoned Edinburgh diners, "rendered speechless". Breakfast gets its own praise. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, plus free parking, and one family stayed several nights with an infant and found it incredibly relaxing. Staff are warm and attentive without hovering. It's a small, intimate place, so book well ahead.
