The Bull Terrier Cafe
A budget-friendly Cardiff café with outdoor seating — an easy, low-cost stop for a simple family bite.

Malaysian · Cardiff
Tucked away in the covered market's far side aisle, this is a tiny one-person operation turning out home-cooked Malaysian and Indian curries for around £5–6 a plate — genuinely huge portions with your pick of rice, chips or roti. The chicken rendang and beef madras get the loudest praise, and there's a butternut squash and coconut vegan curry that holds its own; samosas are five for £3, though one visitor found them over-spiced. You can pick your spice level, which helps with children. Seating at the stall is very limited, so most families take their food up to the balcony area upstairs, where there's plenty of room and space for a pram. High chairs, buggy access and a kids' menu are available, and the owner is warm with everyone — "service with a smile", as regulars put it. Cash-conscious, filling and fast.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
