Udon Noodle · Reading
A big glass-fronted spot in the Oracle where the noodles are portioned in front of you and food lands on the tray fast — which matters when someone small has hit the wall before you've even sat down. Portions are generous enough that half a bowl often goes home in the takeaway pots by the toppings station, and that toppings station is free, so nobody's paying extra for sauce. The menu is plainly written with clear descriptions, which makes ordering with a child on your hip much easier, and there are five or so vegan mains alongside the kids' options — the creamy kitsune udon and sticky yaki tofu both get real praise. High chairs, buggy access and outside tables are all sorted. Service can be brisk rather than warm on a quiet evening, and one parent found the soup arriving less than piping hot.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
