Right on the water at Ocean Village, this is the rare place where the view does half the work of entertaining a restless child — boats, masts and marina light from a couple of floors of seating, plus plenty of tables outside. It's airy and spacious rather than cramped, so a pram isn't a problem, and ordering happens by QR code at your table, which is a quiet blessing when someone can't wait: no hovering for attention, everyone orders what they want. Breakfast is served all day and the large one is generous; the twisted chicken club, carrot and squash soup, and Dan Dan chicken noodles all get praise, and there are vegan and vegetarian options. Staff stay polite when it's heaving. Do note weekend brunch gets busy and service slows, and a few small plates feel dear for what arrives.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
