A Lark Lane fixture that's been serving Liverpool families for decades, this Italian has come through a renovation looking genuinely lovely — worth knowing there's a bar area upstairs as well as the main room. Free parking nearby takes one worry off the table, and there are high chairs, buggy access, a kids' menu and vegan options, so nobody gets left picking at bread. Staff are consistently warm; one family described their waiter as "joyous", and the kitchen has been known to send out a complimentary tiramisu for a special occasion. Portions are reasonably priced for what you get. Two honest snags: food can be slow at busy times, and the music gets loud on Saturday evenings — loud enough that conversation is a struggle. Lunchtimes and early weeknights are the calmer bet with children.
