Right in the Grassmarket, this one earns its keep on a family day out — two rooms plus outdoor tables mean there's usually somewhere to park a buggy without blocking anyone, and the bright, playful interior keeps children entertained while you wait. The pizza list is huge, with proper vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options rather than one token choice, and the staff are happy to talk you through sizes if you're unsure; a 12" comes cut into eight and easily feeds two. Kids gravitate to the fries and burgers, and the rocket-and-spicy-sauce pizza gets particular praise. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, and prices are reasonable for central Edinburgh. It does get properly busy, though — at peak times service can slow or get muddled, so go early with hungry children.
