Pub · Birmingham
Right on the canal at Brindleyplace, this is a big, multi-level Greene King pub with enough room to park a buggy and let children fidget without bumping into anyone. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, and the canal-side terrace — heated, with music and boats going past — buys you a good half hour of distraction on a decent day. Portions are generous and prices fair for this bit of the city; the pie and mash gets singled out again and again, and there are veggie options too. Two things worth knowing: you order at the bar, which isn't always explained, and it's a proper busy pub, so weekends get loud. Staff are mostly warm, though service can be hit and miss. One family called the atmosphere "so chill".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
