Tea room · Cheltenham
A quaint little spot that packs out fast — come before the crowds and you'll usually only wait a few minutes, and the wait is worth it either way. Cosy, homely and rustic inside, with an upstairs room and a small garden and courtyard at the back that give buggies and restless children somewhere to go. The cream tea is the thing: warm, properly fresh scones, smooth clotted cream, thick good-quality jam. Tomato soup comes with a soft slab of freshly baked bread, and the brie and cranberry sandwich is generous. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, and the team are quick, patient and genuinely kind — one family were surprised with a candle and a song for a birthday. Food arrives fast even when every table's full.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
